Flux@ Weymouth Club is excited to offer progressive tennis. Progressive tennis is a system of scaled training and competition for kids; it is a game-based approach to tennis.
Pioneered in Europe, it is now the development method of choice in the majority of the world’s leading tennis nations. None other than Roger Federer is the spokesperson for progressive tennis in his home country.
Despite it’s popularity in Europe, Progressive Tennis has yet to take hold in the US and Flux Tennis is one of a handful of pioneering clubs in the country that have adopted the program.
The program is staffed by a specially selected group of tennis professionals with a particular aptitude for developing younger players. They have all been trained in the philosophy and competencies of the program by the leading expert in progressive tennis throughout the world.
It is a an exciting play format for learning tennis, designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing modified equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size.
The majority of youth sports follow a similar approach, basketball and soccer also employ shortened playing surfaces and appropriately sized equipment. Balls that bounce at a height equal to kids playing abilities allows for better and longer rallies and allows them to build all-court games, racket skills, physical awareness and confidence.
