Meet Our Therapists

Name:  Melanie Erickson

Graduate:  Northeastern University

Credentials:  PT, DPT

Melanie is Regional Director at Bay State Physical Therapy.  Although she works out of both our Scituate and Weymouth clinics, she has treated patients out of our clinic inside the Weymouth Club since 2008.  She attended Northeastern University where she earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy as well as her B.S. in Rehabilitation Sciences. Her clinical experience includes outpatient orthopedics, home care therapy, and inpatient orthopedic trauma.

Melanie treats patients of all ages and ability levels both on land, and with aquatic therapy in Weymouth's warm water therapy pool, in an effort to maximize patient outcome.   She is certified in the Graston Technique, which is a patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables her to effectively detect and treat scar tissue and restrictions that affect normal function.  She is an A.C.E, Aline Certified Expert, skilled in assessing and fitting semi-custom orthotics that focus on aligning the body.  Melanie is also an APTA credential Clinical Instructor, and takes her passion for teaching to the next level working with doctorate level students from many schools around New England.  Her own quest for knowledge is relentless as she constantly seeks out continuing education always striving to learn the newest cutting edge techniques in the field.  Besides managing and treating she also sits out Bay State’s Continuing Education committee and Compliance committee. 

Melanie believes in treating the whole person, not just the impairment.  She works closely with our interdisciplinary team including chiropractors, personal trainers, nutritionists, and massage therapists here at the Weymouth Club.  Melanie has ten years of cheerleading and coaching experience and uses this to aide her functional approach to orthopedic rehabilitation with an emphasis on patient education.  In her free time she enjoys staying healthy and active, volunteering, and playing with her 3 rescue dogs. 

 

Jordan Beguerie, PT, DPT

Jordan grew up in Hanson, Massachusetts.   She graduated from Northeastern University with her B.S. in Rehabiliation Science, where she also received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy.  She became interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy after first-hand experience at a young age being a patient herself.   

Jordan’s clinical experience includes a variety of settings including outpatient orthopedics, acute care, and sub-acute rehab.  She’s gained experience working in clinics and hospitals around the state.  She also has experience having affiliated on the Spinal Cord Injury Unit at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital prior to joining the Bay State team.   Jordan enjoys working with a variety of patients, blending her background and experiences to work on helping her patients of all ability levels get to their fullest potential!

Jordan played basketball, soccer, and was a cheerleader.  She is interested in further developing her orthopedic and manual skills through a constant pursuit of continuing her education.  Her interests outside of work include staying active, spending time with friends/family, and watching the New England Patriots!

 

Name:  Laura Bradbury

Graduate:  Northeastern University

Credentials:  PT, DPT

Laura is Lead Physical Therapist here at our Weymouth location.  Laura is from Dedham, Massachusetts and graduated from Northeastern University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy after receiving her B.S. in Rehabilitation Sciences. Laura's clinical experience allows her to work with patients of all ages and diagnoses, ranging from outpatient orthopedics, to nursing home care, to infants/pediatrics.

Laura enjoys mentoring younger staff and working with clinical students.  Laura is very active and played both soccer and track for Dedham High School. As the Dedham Track Captain she lead her team to win the State Championship. She uses her strong athletic background and manual therapy techniques to restore function and enable her patients to return to the activities they love. Look for Laura at your local road races two of her favorites are The Color Run and Tufts 10K!

Name:  Dave Clarke

Graduate:  Northeastern University

Credentials:  PT, DPT

Dave graduated from Northeastern University with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy after receiving his B.S. in Rehabilitation Sciences.  Dave personally underwent physical therapy after sustaining an injury in high school.  This sparked an interest in the profession of physical therapy combined with his desire to help people to get better. 

Dave’s interest range from orthopedic sports injuries to neurological and cardiac conditions.  He enjoys working with people of all ages.  Helping patients return to their prior level of function using manual therapy and functional exercise is what Dave does best.  Dave enjoys his role as an aquatic therapist here, utilizing the pool to maximize his treatment approach. 

While at Hingham High School, Dave played varsity level hockey and baseball and continued playing club baseball for Northeastern University while studying to become a physical therapist. Dave has now taken that love of baseball to coaching his NU club team.  Dave continues to follow his passion for baseball, playing amateur baseball for the Yawkey League in Boston. 

Name:  Natalie Cormier

Graduate:  University of New England

Credentials:  PT, DPT

Natalie is from a small town in northern Maine. She graduated from the University of New England with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy after receiving her B.S in Kinesiology from the University of Maine.  Natalie’s passion for aquatic therapy and outpatient orthopedics brought her to Bay State Physical Therapy in July 2013.

Natalie believes in an active and healthy lifestyle. She participates in soccer, tennis, cross country skiing, hiking and road races. Natalie is also certified in health coaching from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. This helps Natalie continue to treat the whole person and help her patients achieve their goals successfully.

 

Jonathan Kahane, PT, DPT

Jon graduated from Quinnipiac University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy after receiving a B.S. in Health Sciences. Jon’s clinical experiences encompass both outpatient orthopedic and acute care inpatient settings. He has worked with a wide range of clinical conditions, including orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary diagnoses. Jon has a special interest in sports medicine and orthopedics, specifically injury prevention and post-surgical treatment. At Quinnipiac, Jon was part of a research team that conducted a study to examine the link between limited hip mobility and low back pain in amateur golfers. 

Jon is committed to providing exceptional individualized care to help his patients achieve their goals and reach an optimal level of function. His treatment approach places a strong emphasis on manual therapy, functional therapeutic exercise, and patient education.

When he’s not in the clinic, Jon fulfills his passion for sports by playing basketball, golf and tennis and cheering on all of Boston’s teams. He also enjoys spending time in Cape Cod and trying out new restaurants. 

Name:  Danielle Miller

Graduate:  Northeastern University

Credentials:  PT, DPT

Danielle grew up in Plymouth, Massachusetts.  She graduated from Northeastern University with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy after receiving her B.S. in Movement Science and Sport Leisure Studies with a concentration in Sports Medicine from Westfield University. 

Danielle loves working with a diverse array of patients of all ages and from all walks of life.  One of her most enriching professional experiences stems from a two-week trip to Ecuador, where she partnered with several orphanages, to teach aquatic therapy and techniques in early childhood development. Her clinical experiences include inpatient and outpatient orthopedics where she has served patients with all kinds of diagnoses. Danielle practices active listening when working with her patients and takes pride in incorporating their needs into treatment plans.  

When not at work, Danielle stays active and loves to cook, ski, and watch the Patriots.

 

Christian Plunkett PT, DPT

Christian is from Kennebunk, Maine. He graduated from Quinnipiac University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy after earning a B.S. in Health Sciences. Christian was motivated to pursue a career in physical therapy at a young age after seeing the positive impact it had on his little sister. Christian gained further exposure to the profession through a variety of sports injuries in both high school and college.

Christian enjoys working with patients of all ages and has special interest in orthopedics, manual therapy, and sports rehab. He was part of a research project at Quinnipiac University that investigated the effects of visual distraction on ACL injury. This project was presented nationally at the annual PT conference in San Diego, CA in 2016.  His clinical experiences include stops in Maine, Massachusetts, and New York City, where he worked on a Spinal Cord Injury unit and gained valuable experience in treating a variety of neurological conditions.

Christian played football and baseball in high school and rugby in college. He is a dedicated Boston sports fan but enjoys learning about sports from all over the world. When not at work, Christian enjoys staying active through hiking, golf, and playing sports, as well as cooking and traveling.
