Elizabeth Jernigan - Director of Dance with Energy
Elizabeth received her B.A. in Dance and Secondary Education from Roger Williams University, graduating Summa cum laude. She holds a teaching certificate in Dance, grades Pre-K-12. Elizabeth has taught and managed dance programs extensively in both the public and private sector. Working with Arts Alive! Barrington, a non-profit performing arts education program, Elizabeth served as the Dance Supervisor and Associate Director for the organization. In addition, she taught for Chance to Dance RI, bringing dance to elementary public school children throughout RI. She is a member of the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) and serves as the State Affiliate for the Rhode Island Dance Alliance. Currently, Elizabeth is performing with Fusionworks Dance Company, a modern/ contemporary professional company. Most recently, Elizabeth was honored as ‘Dance Teacher of the Year’ by the Rhode Island Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. Elizabeth is thrilled to be a part of the Weymouth Club and Dance with Energy. She is looking forward to helping all of our students grow and thrive as they explore their creative voices through dance!

Lauren Hamaty
Lauren has been dancing for 19 years. Most of her dancing years were spent at the Dance Shop in Holbrook. She studied tap, jazz, ballet, and hip hop. In high school Lauren was a dance major for the creative arts program, the Renaissance Program, at North Quincy High. She attended Emerson College and received a BFA in Writing, Literature and Publishing. She also minored in dance. At Emerson Lauren danced for Emerson Urban Dance Theatre and Emerson Dance Company. While studying abroad in Spain her senior year she learned and performed flamenco dance as well. In the past Lauren has taught at Expressions, LLC in Needham and the Kathy McCrohon Dance Studio in Wellesley. She currently also teaches at the Metrowest YMCA in Framingham. Lauren is very passionate about both dance and nutrition and just graduated with an MS in Nutrition from Framingham State University. She looks forward to teaching new students and helping them learn and grow!

Kate Jenkins
Kate has been teaching and passing her knowledge on to students of all ages for 25 years.  Kate graduated with honors from Oklahoma City University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Dance Management and Dance Performance.  Since graduating, Kate has traveled and performed as a professional dancer all over the United States and abroad.  She has performed in Taiwan, Las Vegas, Branson, Orlando and on various ships in the Royal Caribbean, Holland America and Princess fleets.  She has also coached and choreographed for numerous public school programs and dance teams, both in middle and high schools.  Kate has instructed professional dancers for several production companies and cruise lines as well as taught in private studios where the student base ranged from three year olds to adults.  Kate has a true passion for teaching and has a natural talent for reaching all learning types.  She is very excited to be a part of the Weymouth Club and looks forward to helping Dance with Energy grow & foster young dancers!

Kellie Brito
Kellie has been teaching dance for over 12 years. Her dancing has taken her to national championships. She graduated with her B.A. of Arts in Dance Performance and Education from Dean College School of Dance in 2007. There she performed as a featured dancer under Maurice Hines and as a part of the elite Dance Company. While at Dean, Kellie focused her training on Pedagogy, Composition and Creative Movement. Kellie was also accepted into Alvin Ailey’s Independent Study Program in NYC.   She started directing Weymouth Club’s Dance With Energy in 2008 and looks forward to teaching in the studio’s 5th year. 

Amanda Singer
Amanda has been dancing since the age of three, in multiple dance disciplines. She studied at both Franklin Pierce University, and Cape Cod Community College and now holds an AA in Dance and Theater. Starting in high school, Amanda discovered her love for teaching through apprenticeships. Following her opportunities to assist and expand her training through master classes in NYC, she took a "Teaching Dance for Children" course, was a part of Raven Thunder Dance Team, as well as FPU Dance Company. Amanda competed self-choreographed pieces as both a soloist, placing High Silver, and in a duo, incorporating a self-written spoken word, placing Gold. She has been spreading her passion for dance through non-profit organizations, after school enrichment programs, drama club productions, and in studios throughout the South Shore and Cape Cod. Since she began teaching, she has instructed students of all ages, ranging in abilities, from recreational to competitive. She has had the honor of taking classes with well known dance masters including, Sarah Keegan, Shawn Mahoney, and Todd Walker. Amanda's choreography has been most recently seen in Coastal Dance Company's Alice in Wonderland and in her own adaptation of Broadway's Annie- "Annie in a Nutshell!" To enhance her dance skills, Amanda takes adult ballet at the Boston Ballet School, enjoys free skate at the local ice arena, and takes Ariel Yoga classes to strengthen her core and increase flexibility.

Kristyn Grattan
Kristyn has been dancing for 13 years.  Her talents in Irish dance have earned her numerous awards at the regional, national and world championship level competitions.  In 2012, Kristyn was ranked one of the top 20 Irish dancers in her age group in the World.  Kristyn has danced in London, Ireland, Scotland, Canada and, of course, the United States.  She recently auditioned for a show choreographed by Riverdance.   Kristyn will be representing the New England Region at the upcoming World Championship competition in London in 2014.  Kristyn dances for the Brady Academy of Irish Dance and has performed and continues to perform in many arts festivals, shows and competitions nationally and internationally.  Presently, Kristyn is a freshman at UMass Boston and is studying in the field of Health Sciences.  She is looking forward to her second year of teaching with Dance With Energy at the Weymouth Club!

Melissa Webster
Melissa began her love for dance and teaching at Dance Track in Wakefield, MA. She is a former member of Tribe The Dance Company where she had five pieces produced in their annual shows and had her work performed at the Hatch Shell in Boston. Melissa also participated in the Shared Choreographer's Concert where her choreography went through two rounds before being accepted in the final show.  Melissa also has enjoyed the opportunity to teach D.A.R.E Dance as well as other outreach programs. She currently is fulfilling her passion of hip hop dance in the company Unyted Stylz Crew where she continues to perform all over Boston.
