The Early Years: All Tennis

1988

Steve and Sally Goldman purchase the Weymouth Tennis Club, later renamed Weymouth Tennis and Athletic Club and, finally, Weymouth Club. The club has 8 indoor tennis courts and 8 outdoor clay courts.

Steve and Sally create Tennis, Fitness and Arts (TFA) Summer Camp.

First Expansion: The Fitness Craze

Early 1990s

Build the Fitness Center and Group Exercise Studio in response to skyrocketing popularity of group exercise classes and strength-training equipment.

Mid 1990s

Outdoor pool and 3 tennis courts are enclosed in an inflated bubble for year-round use. Five acres are purchased for more tennis, parking and other expansions.

Late 1990s/ Early 2000s

The second level is constructed for new equipment, another Group Ex Studio (no longer called aerobics), a spinning studio and locker rooms. Many more staff come on board.

Second Expansion: The Full-Service Destination

Mid- to Late 2000s

Family fun heads outside with a new 8-lane pool, splash pool, family and aquatic locker rooms, and the Poolside Café. Inside, the Energy Center for Children launches, allowing kids to have fun while parents enjoy the Club.

A second Group Ex / Dance Studio and the basketball court are built. A professional nutritionist joins the Club.

Third Expansion: The Mind/Body Studio Center

2010s

With busy families and professionals darting around (and glued to their phones), Steve and Sally open the Mind/Body Studio Center and W Spa to help members restore balance. Offerings include yoga, barre, reformer Pilates and a full menu of day-spa services.

Later additions include the youth tennis courts, pickleball courts and outdoor splash pad.

Our many programs continue to thrive – Waves Swim School, swim team, Dance with Energy dance school, and TFA Camp.
