We offer courses for the following certifications:

Additional Information

CPR Course

  • No prerequites but must complete 4 hours of prework this is a blended learning class

Lifeguard Course Prerequisites

  • Be 15 years old
  • Swim 300 yard continuous swim swimming freestyle and breast stroke
  • Tread water for 2 minutesusing only the legs.
  • Swim 20 yards and retrieve a 10 lb brick from the deep end of the pool and swim back on your back.

Lifeguard Recertification Course Prerequisites

  • Must possess a current certification or one only expired no more than 30 days
  • Same prerequisites as the Lifeguard Course

Waterfront Lifeguard Course

  • Must possess a current lifeguard certification
  • Swim 550 yard continuous swim swimming freestyle and breast stroke
  • Tread water for 2 minutesusing only the legs.
  • Swim 20 yards and retrieve a 10 lb brick from the deep end of the pool and swim back on your back.
  • Retrieve three rings under water spaced five yards apart

Water Safety Instructor Course

  • $35 registration fee paid directly to the red cross
  • Must complete online prework this is a blended learning class
  • Candidates must swim 25 yards of each of the following strokes: Front Crawl, Back Crawl, Elementary Backstroke, Breaststroke and Sidestroke.
  • Students must swim 15 yards of Butterfly. Maintain position on back for 1 minute in deep water (sculling or floating) and tread water for 1 minute. All of these skills must be performed at a Red Cross Level 4 or higher.

Lifeguard Instructor Course

  • Be 17 years of age on or before the completion of the class
  • Possess a current Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, An equivalent certificate from another organization, Complete the Online Session for the Lifeguarding Instructor course and complete the pre-course session
  • Pass the pre-course session that include showing proficiency in all the basic lifeguard course requisites and acquired skills
