From Our Family to Yours: A Message from the Owners

Hello and welcome!

We’re Steve and Sally Goldman, owners and operators of Weymouth Club – one of the premier family-centered health and fitness clubs in the country.

Thank you for your interest in our Club. It’s truly our heart and soul, and we work hard to make it special. We raised our three children here, and now we have five beautiful grandchildren here, too.

Weymouth Club is a place where family members of all fitness levels and ages – from babies to seniors  – can move, learn and grow in the spirit of good health. We pride ourselves on offering a great facility, outstanding programs, a safe environment and a wonderful and caring staff.

Here are two things we’ve learned while growing Weymouth Club over three decades.

  1. In business, as in tennis, you must stay on your toes.

We both love tennis and met on a court. (Sally is a former #1-ranked USTA New England junior player. Steve is a coach and USTA Tennis Pro of the Year.) So we know it’s important to anticipate where the ball is going.

After marriage, we jumped at the chance to purchase the Weymouth Tennis Club in 1988. Strength training and group exercise (then known as aerobics) were heating up, so we added a Fitness Center and Group Exercise Studio and became the first multi-purpose health club on the South Shore.

After we had kids, our needs in the Club changed, and many of our members were in the same boat. Childcare was the next addition, giving busy parents some hard-earned “me time” while the kids played steps away in a safe place.

Thereafter every expansion was about adapting to the desires and needs of our members. Over 17 renovations we’ve added indoor and outdoor pools, more tennis courts, a new group ex studio and spinning studios, our Energy Center for children, and finally the Mind/Body Studio Center and Recovery Zone. See the full timeline of our evolution. It’s a lot!

  1. Put people first, always.

Weymouth Club’s culture is based on family and familiar faces.

It’s those faces – and the conversations that go with them – that get us excited to come to work every day. We enjoy helping people and making them happy. So do our terrific staff, many of whom have been with the Club for years. (Want to join our team? View our careers page.)

As a leader in the South Shore community, we bring together local businesses and consumers through our Business Alliance.

Also, every year children from families in need experience the fun and health benefits of physical activity through our nonprofit organization, South Shore Initiative.

So here we are, all these years later. It started with a tennis racket – and now Weymouth Club is a way of life.

If you’re already a member, thank you for making our club special.

And if you’re not a member yet, we’d like to personally invite you to experience the club. Come by to take a tour, workout or just relax. Click here to try us for free!

We look forward to seeing you at Weymouth Club soon!

Yours in good health,

Steve and Sally Goldman
